Wrightwood Museum
The Wrightwood Museum is housed in the old firehouse,
easy to locate with the trompe l’oeil antique fire
engine mural. In addition to pictures and artifacts, the
original upstairs fireman’s quarters have been recreated;
and a Fireman’s One Dish Cook Book is available.
Open Saturday 10 am until 2 pm or by appointment.(6000

Grassy Hollow Visitor Center
Knowledgeable volunteers supply information, directions
and education ro the public. The Center has pictorial
displays, a video presentation of forest lore, and an
extensive display of preserved local animals, birds and
reptiles. A bird feeding/viewing area is maintained and
a picnic area is at your disposal. The center is open
Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays from 10 am to 4 pm.(Six
miles west of Wrightwood on Highway 2)
Hiking/Biking
A year round mecca for hikers and cyclists. Wrightwood
is one of the major supply points for those hiking the
Pacific Crest Trail (a 2,650 mile trek form Mexico to
Canada or vice versa). Trail maps are offered at a number
of locations around town. The local hiking club welcomes
visitor on their weekly Saturday hikes.
Self-Guided Driving Tour
of Wrightwood
A book about Wrightwood’s past written by Pat Corpe
Krig provides the visitor with 22 historical stops around
the area. The book is available in many of the village
stores.
Earthquake Tour
Another self-guided auto tour booklet, this time to see
some of the natural phenomena around Wrightwood caused
by long-ago earthquakes along the San Andreas Fault which
runs right through the village.
Jackson Lake
8 miles from the village You are invited to bring your
fishing pole or canoe (no motorized boats). The lake is
regularly stocked with trout and there are picnic tables
and several barbeque pits for a relaxing afternoon.
52 Mile Scenic Byway
The National Forest Scenic Byway portion of Highway 2
starts just east of Wrightwood. It winds westward through
the Angeles National Forest terminating in La Canada.
About a two hour trip, the Byway offers spectacular mountain
vistas and sprawling view of the high desert.(Highway

Mountain High Ski Resort
Mountain High offers 12 chair lifts, 2 high speed quads,
220 acres of skiable terrain, night skiing, 5 terrain
park, 2 competition halfpipes, 6 food facilities, lessons,
3 ski and snowboard rental shops.(760-249-5808)
Ski Sunrise Resort
Home to one of the oldest ski fields, a “best kept
secret in Southern California”. Sunrise offers spectacular
view of the desert while skiing down the mountain. In
summer and fall, Disc Gif is offered on this magnificent

Shopping Wrightwood
These streets make up the locations of village shops offering
antiques, books, arts and crafts, flowers, paintings,
clothing, furniture, jewelry, gifts and souvenirs along
with eaterties and refreshment stops. And be sure to look
for our several town murals depicting Wrightwood past
and present while strolling the town.(Hwy 2, Park Dr.,
Apple Street, Cedar and Evergreen)
Big Pines Visitor Center
Across the road from Mt. High Ski Resort is a beautiful
wood building currently under restoration. On the weekends
a section is open as an interpretive center with staff
from the Forest Service on hand to answer questions about
